A Conversation with Author KB Brookins

A group of us met over zoom with Trans author KB Brookins about their book Pretty. The book is inspiring and Brookins is no less inspirational over zoom. The book combined poetry and prose to make a memorable experience.


Despite the recent horrendous acts of the Texas Legislature, Brookins intends to return to Texas after a one year fellowship is over.


Pretty is definitely a book will worth reading or better yet, listening to while following along with the written text.

In my 2017 campaign for State Senate, I seemed to have trouble asking for help. The Democratic candidate in our district was appalled that I didn't ask for money from attendees at my announcement. There will be none of that this time around!  I have taken to singing the Temptations song "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" at every opportunity. 😊
