Sparkle Announces Her Candidacy for Governor on Zoom

It was huge! It was historic! It was not near the disaster it could have been.

In my mind I envisioned Greg Abbott calling and informing me that my presentation on Monday had been so impressive that he was resigning that very day so that I could be installed as Governor. In my worst nightmare, the announcement was taken over by Zoom bombers and Zombies for Jesus and I had been forced to confess all my sins... it literally was the meeting that would not end.

The actual Zoom event was not without its share of drama. I am a Luddite from way back. I resisted buying a cell phone for years and then when forced to get one only got a flip phone. I know have a cell phone but barely know how to use it.

I just got a new laptop and not only was just learning to use it. Bottom line I was only able to get on 3 seconds before the call was supposed to start.

Ever since I saw the movie Body Heat and hapless lawyer Ned Racine (played by William Hurt), I have been fascinated with the concept of using one's incompetence as a sword. I have now mastered the art of incompetence. By changing and re-changing the Zoom details so many times that the Zoom bombers and Zombies for Jesus were unable to find the meeting.

But fortunately there were some good faith viewers, including the MC.

Luckily Wonder Woman Jo Jo, came to the rescue and the meeting came down to reasonable people, asking reasoble questions. I gave reasonable, if uninspired answers.

It has finally got through my thick but beautiful skull that I am never going to be able to successfully explain gender euphoria to someone who hasn't experienced it. I don't know how many people have tried to explain the allure of hang gliding, sky diving and bungee jumping but I just don't get it. Of course the big difference is that no one is threatening to put sky divers in prison not is anyone denying bungee medical care.

Despite realizing that it is futile endeavor to try to explain gender euphoria I will probably continue to try to explain it. After all what is the purpose of a wall except to bang one's head against it.
