The Name Game

Like many transgender people, I have dual identities. I was born Glenn Higbee Williams, but have a court order changing my gender marker and name to Glenna Sue Williams. Attorney General Paxton has issued an opinion stating that these orders are invalid. The Texas Courts have long held that Attorney General Opinions are not binding on anyone, even on the office of the Attorney General.


I don't know if the Texas Democratic Party will follow Paxton's Opinion. It really doesn't matter, as most know me as Sparkle. The only name you need to remember is Sparkle.

In my 2017 campaign for State Senate, I seemed to have trouble asking for help. The Democratic candidate in our district was appalled that I didn't ask for money from attendees at my announcement. There will be none of that this time around!  I have taken to singing the Temptations song "Ain't Too Proud to Beg" at every opportunity. 😊
